As you probably know, we use organic fertilizers when we do clean up (Holly-Tone) and installation of new materials (Bio-Tone), along with the potting soil and pine nuggets used for summer annual flowers. These products all come in recyclable bags. When you see the crews bring these bags back onto our trailer, rest assured that they are being recycled! So far this year we have used over a 1000 quantity of 50-lb bags of this material. Midway through the season, we load up a truck and drive them to Bellefontaine to the Logan County Solid Waste District where we can ensure they are properly recycled.
We are also currently working on palletizing all of our plant containers in order to ship them to Terra Cycle located in New Jersey. This way we can make sure they are also taken care of responsibly—as we are expecting to ship 15 pallets to be recycled!
