Waste has a substantial negative impact on the environment. You have heard that harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses release from the landfills. And no, this isn’t just a hippy thing… Start 2019 with the goal to reduce-reuse-recycle.
There are more ways than you might initially think to help our environment. We can all do simple things to reduce the amount of landfill trash—as there are so many ways to recycle or upcycle. If you are skeptical or think there is too much effort involved to do this, watch HGTV or check out Etsy or a variety of other craft sights. For example, it can be as simple as asking yourself: What can I do with that plastic jar? How can I transform it into something useful or even for that hard-to-buy person on your gift list?
Recycling helps reduce the pollution caused by waste. Joel— at the M.J. office and at home—has always been a big recycler. Recently he found a fascinating site called TerraCycle.com. This is a company that was founded by a student from Princeton who was on a mission to “Eliminate the Idea of Waste.” This company helps you find ways to recycle just about anything from contact lens blisters packs, to toys, to solo cups. Some of the methods are free, others you may have to pay to have it shipped. Either way, think about the trees, people, and energy you are saving.
Become a Humanitarian as your 2019 resolution and Reduce-Reuse-Recycle… giving the green environment back to all of us to enjoy.
